SUPPORT FUNCTIONS - FINANCE

Job description

The Industrial Controlling & Costing Manager will play a pivotal role in cultivating a performance-driven culture within our organization. With a focus on refining cost-related strategies and leveraging strong costing expertise, this strategic leader ensures optimal resource allocation and cost-effectiveness in global manufacturing processes. The role extends to aligning financial planning and analysis with the broader Global Manufacturing & Quality Control strategy, understanding, and addressing financial implications. 

Your essential duties and responsabilities will revolve around : 

1.     Team Management

  • Lead and mentor the team of direct reports located in the USA and in France to effectively implement costing & industrial controlling practices, ensuring alignment with the company's financial goals and objectives.

2.     Inventory Cost Accounting & Controlling

  •  Oversee the correct application of the inventory costing methodology and implement internal control processes to maintain accuracy and reliability of the inventory valuation.
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis for various stages of seed processing, to ensure accuracy and adherence to budgetary constraints.
     
  • Establish a culture of precise financial and technical data accuracy, involving shared ownership and accountability among FP&A, Supply Chain Operations, and Master Data.
  • Communicate and train strategic key stakeholders on costing principles and financial implications.
  • Oversee the monthly Excess & Obsolescence (E&O) inventory reserve consolidation, track against the Budget, and compute P&L impact for bi-annual destruction requests.

3.     Financial Performance Evaluation & resources optimization

  •  Lead the strategy with the global manufacturing and quality control leaders to implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and benchmarks, continuously assessing and optimizing manufacturing performance.
  • Develop and implement robust industrial control systems to monitor and manage production processes, identifying opportunities for improvement in efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Provide financial analyses and insights to support management teams’ decision-making.
     
  • Oversee the financial dashboard of each domain.
    Monitor resources, including inventory, OPEX, CAPEX, and headcount, against predefined activity levels.
     
  • Conduct analyses and provide recommendations to enhance Manufacturing Operations & QC processes, including cost reduction and productivity improvements.

4.     Planning & Budgeting

  •  Predict unit costs of future products or projects based on historical data and future assumptions, considering Supply Chain process evolutions.
     
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting process by providing insights on cost trends, production variances, and potential cost-saving opportunities.
     
  • Support short-term and mid-term financial strategy for the BU.
     
  • Monitor unit cost alignment with Forecast and Budget targets

Skills: what we expect of you

You have a Master's degree in Finance or Engineering, or an MBA, and 10 years of relevant work experience in Costing, Industrial Controlling, Supply. 

You have strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), and your capacity to develop Excel models would be a plus. Experience with JD Edwards is prefered.

You have proven management experience and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.

You demonstrate strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results. You have the ability to facilitate teamwork among staff, as well as with other groups throughout the organization and to build trust with all functional areas within the organization.

You're known to be a mentor and resource for direct reports, peers, and subordinates. You have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, management, peers, staff, corporate finance team and external auditors.

You're able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events. You're comfortable with fast-paced, challenging environment.

You are results-oriented & Deadline focused and motivated.
