PRODUCTION & OPERATIONS - SUPPLY-CHAIN

Job description

  • Develop and implement a seed supply strategy for Asia
  • Establish production plans according to the quantity and quality requirements, cost and delivery timelines finalized by the release committee
  • Allocate production release to specific production regions and vendors
  • Negotiate with external production companies and growers to finalize production contracts
  • Establish and effectively manage associated budgets
  • Provide regular updates and review of production data for assigned species and varieties
  • Collaborate with Plant Breeders and Product Managers to develop the supply plan and availability timeline for new variety introductions
  • Manage stock seed production plan and inventory, crop placement, follow ups and supervision
  • Collaborate with production teams on feasibility and economics of new genetics and IP security
  • Manage the contract allocation on Asia products, including vendor relations and monitoring of production targets to deliver desired quality and quantity of seed on time

    Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the seed supply for Asia varieties including quality, quantity, cost, third party vendor relationships, and production targets monitoring.
  • Search new potential areas for seed production for assigned species considering economics, IP security and availability
    of experienced NW growers.
  • Review production feasibility and economics of new introductions through collaboration between Breeding, Production and Seed Production Research
  • Visit NW growers and vendors to see the crop performance and provide regular updates.
  • Analyze production results to improve performance and cost effectiveness.
  • Harmonize seed disinfection protocols in collaboration with global and local Asia seed technology team

Skills: what we expect of you

  • Min BS in Agriculture or related field, MS is a plus
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in vegetable seed production.
  • Leadership experience with effective interpersonal communication and management skills is essential.
  • Ability to frequently travel to domestic and international locations
