Limagrain Field Seeds Research (= LFSR) is recruiting a Biostatistician within the Breeding Tools team for its Data Analytics platform located in Chappes (63).

The aim of this platform is to test and develop data analysis and decision support tools, methods and guidelines to help breeders and support functions create better performing varieties more quickly. The techniques used are based on different areas of statistics, machine learning and quantitative genetics.

As a biostatistician in the Breeding Tools team, you will design and develop new statistical tools for our researchers, using state-of-the-art techniques for data analysis and visualization of results. Working closely with our breeding teams, you will actively contribute to the implementation and evolution of these tools. As a true expert in your field, you will participate in the scientific emulation within Groupe Limagrain and more particularly in the Field Crops division.

Your main tasks will be to:

- Develop new decision-making tools for breeding and support functions. These tools will be integrated into our collaborative analysis platform, to which our statisticians and geneticists contribute.
- Interact closely with breeders and support functions, helping them to use our tools and gathering their needs.
- Provide technical support for analysis and visualization platforms for our users.
- Contribute to the training of users in the tools and associated statistical concepts (drafting of documents, production of e-learning modules, production of videos, organization of face-to-face and distance training courses).
- Carry out studies and statistical analyses in connection with our plant breeding activities.
- Participate in the testing and development of new algorithms and analysis methods. Maintain a scientific and technical watch on current data analysis tools and methods, particularly in relation to plant and animal breeding. Be a driving force behind proposals.
- Act as a biostatistical expert, advising breeders and support functions in carrying out their analyses and setting up new projects.

- Master's 2 in (bio)statistics, data science, quantitative genetics or equivalent with a taste and pronounced aptitude for programming. Initial experience in animal or plant breeding would be a plus.
- Very good R skills required. Knowledge of Python would be a plus.
- Solid knowledge of statistics and mixed models in particular.
- Good knowledge of collaborative development tools such as Git, Azure DevOps and Conda would be appreciated.
- Demonstrates autonomy and rigor. Results-oriented.
- Good interpersonal skills, able to work as part of a team.
- Ability to interact in an international, multidisciplinary environment. Fluent written and spoken English.
