Job description

Deliver a commercially successful pipeline of hybrid products, in assigned Indeterminate Tomato markets, by actively contributing to all aspects of the commercial breeding program, including: new parent line development, hybrid creation, and hybrid product advancement. Lead the implementation of advanced breeding technologies and methodologies to ensure an efficient and innovative pipeline that delivers top-performing genetics to our customers in the Mexico and international Indeterminate Tomato markets. This position will be based at one of our R&D locations in Los Mochis or Culiacán, Mexico.

Skills: what we expect of you

• M.S. degree in Plant Breeding, Quantitative Genetics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in plant breeding, including field-based research.
• Candidates must demonstrate expertise in experimental design, statistical analysis, breeding methodologies, and marker-assisted breeding approaches.
• Strong preference will be given to candidates with extensive experience leading a commercial vegetable breeding program, with a proven track record of successfully delivering commercial hybrid varieties.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate phenotypic data and genomic/molecular marker information into applied breeding strategies and decision-making processes. Experience with Genomic Selection, QTL mapping and deployment, phenomics, simulations, and statistical analysis of large datasets is highly desirable.
• Must be proficient in Spanish and fluent in English.
