RESEARCH & INNOVATION - RESEARCH OPERATIONS

Main Goal

The purpose of this position is to manage the multi-species experimentation team with the aim of providing high-quality, cost-effective trials to generate accurate data for the Cereals and Oilseed Rape breeding programs, with the aim of creating varieties of Lineage Wheat, Hybrid Wheat, Oilseed Rape and Barley.

Job description

1. Manages the multi-species experimentation team at the Verneuil site: workload management and distribution within the team.

2. Organizes the implementation and follow-up of trials, in all their components, according to the experimental set-ups decided by the breeders, with the aim of ensuring optimum trial quality and providing reliable results.

- Contacts and communicates with farmers to find plots and set up contracts.
- Draws up plans for setting up trials in plots according to crop rotation.
- Supervise preparation and planting of seedlings
- Supervises equipment preparation and calibration
- Supervises crop maintenance and monitoring (phytosanitary treatments, fertilizer applications) in line with good agricultural practices.
- Manages trial harvesting
- Suggests improvements to the trial network

3. Organizes his or her time so as to be present at peak times for seasonal activities requiring a heavy workload, without neglecting the work of synthesis and reflection linked to his or her activity.

4. Is responsible for the operation, maintenance and adaptation of machinery (tractors, combines, seeders).
Contributes with his team to the evolution of the equipment by turning to new technologies, in liaison with the Phira team.
Ensures Mec@ inspections are carried out properly.

5. Supervises equipment exchanges with other Group sites.

6. Is responsible for purchase orders and invoices (COSMOS/SAP).

7. Participates in defining and monitoring the budget and CAPEX for test activities and infrastructure in cooperation with the selection teams.

8. Manages the stock of phytosanitary products (including inventory, orders and follow-up in dedicated software).

9. Communicates regularly with breeding teams and participates in station management meetings.

Skills: what we expect of you

- Agricultural engineer or equivalent with at least 3 years' experience, or BTS in Agriculture and/or Agronomy with at least 5 years' experience.
- Taste and aptitude for field work
- Strong technical expertise and very good experience of agricultural practices and trial management
- Interest in mechanics

Recruitment process

Our recruitment process consists of several stages:

- the first consists of a pre-screening of applications by Jérémy, our Talent Acquisition Manager, accompanied by future manager Mathilde, to establish a shortlist of candidates for audition. A telephone pre-qualification may be carried out.

- A first interview is organized with the future manager.

- A second HR interview follows shortly afterwards.

Finally, feedback is given to the candidates. Various tests may also be considered (language, personality, etc.).
