Main Goal


PRODUCT MANAGER - CAROTTE AND BEETROOT for Middle East and Africa

The position reports to the Marketing department under the responsibilities of the Portfolio lead.

You will be asked to support growth of our Carrot and Beetroot range by recommending and managing the global strategy and the development of these species across Middle East and Africa.

The position includes strategic and operational missions with significant challenges in many markets.

The proposed tasks are as follows but are not limited to:

Market intelligence & Business outlook:
• Follow up and update market data in collaboration with the development and sales teams in order to anticipate major market trends.
• Define and regularly update the ambition for each crop in the related area, to direct marketing, research, development and sales activities of the related species in the area.

Innovation:
• Identify and characterize the new products specifications expected by the customers, based on a strong market knowledge.
• Ensure growth with innovation, by developing new concepts and new products in collaboration with Breeders, local Development & Sales teams,
• Actively animate and push the consolidation of products' sales between countries, capitalizing on products' performance and strong markets' knowledge

Lifecycle and Products' management:
• Manage product life cycle and products range for Middle east and Africa perimeter, within the objective of turnover and margin growth, with the support of Production, NPI flow Manager, Development & Sales teams
• Lead the New Product Introduction process including Launching plans (4 Ps) and more particularly price positioning definitions with local Development and Sales teams
• Support Sales teams with appropriate selling tools: technical information, product sales arguments.
• Develop and implement product trial plans with breeders and development teams.
• Thanks to markets' knowledge and perspectives' analysis, participate actively with Sales teams to the projection of Sales forecasts, supervise sales forecasts and inventories ‘management and actively participate to Production plans.
• Manage safety stock level for his/her crops and maintain proactivity of stock management.
• Maintain and improve product quality consistency and lead Quality Chart follow-up.

Products' Communications:
• Ensure execution of Commercial brands' strategy on a regional level in respect of the worldwide brand strategy
• Ensure best communication for products' benefits by proposing specific and competitive USP for each target within the chain.
• Participate to products' promotion definition (commercial and new products) to actively support local Development teams and Communication team, to implement effective and performant communication plans.

Profile


Profile:

The candidate would be someone with a strategic vision and strong projection abilities.
An ideal profile would have a good knowledge of fruit/vegetable production and commercialization in the related markets area.

A bachelor or master's degree in agronomy business or related field is requested.
A minimum of 4 or 5 years of working experience is necessary in product management (or related function) in seeds sector or other agricultural product.
Knowledge about vegetable commercial chain management is a plus.

This person would act frequently as a project leader, so she/he should know how to lead/motivate multifunctional/multicultural teams and be able to travel regularly.

• Languages: Fluent speaking and writing in English, French and Arabic language would be a plus.




Location:

The position is ideally based in France. However, other reasonable locations in Africa, the Middle East or other places could be considered.

The position will require frequent travels inside Middle East and Africa countries (30% to 50% of your time)
