Main Goal

To develop and implement the UK commercial strategy and lead the sales team to deliver the business and financial objectives for the UK and contribute to the achievement of the Business Area North West Europe performance. Lead and develop an industry leading sales team that develops strong business relationships with customers, while operating in a safe and compliant way. To be responsible, as part of the management team, for the development and implementation of strategic roadmaps for the UK and the BA NW Europe.

Job description

As Commercial Manager for UK and member of the BA Management Team:

o To contribute to and be responsible for the Business Area Roadmap and implementation in UK
o As a member of the management team of the UK, to lead the commercial strategy development and contribute to and be responsible for the UK Roadmap and implementation
o Develop and implement the UK commercial strategy across the wholesale and retail business for all crop areas – go to market strategy, distribution platform, portfolio positioning, commercial policy, demand creation activities etc. to deliver the financial and business objectives (revenues, profit and market share)
o Prepare sales budgets and forecasts, and track progress to manage and mitigate risks
o Monitor and report periodically on sales performance. Propose and implement corrective actions in case of deviation from budget
o Lead commercial strategy development and implementation of sales effectiveness, CRM, e-business and other European / BA projects.
o Work with the Sales Director Nickerson to implement the consistent development of retail sales as part of a total joined up Limagrain market approach strategy and tactical plan for the whole market with clear objectives and measures.
o Lead others to their best potential by acting as a mentor
o Sales and Customer Services team management to develop performance and competencies and achieve financial KPI's
o Team management to improve sales forecasting, production and processing planning, and financial forecasting for all crop species.
o Foster relationships with key accounts and influencers and develop a best in class sales team as measured in structured customer feedback

Skills: what we expect of you

• Bachelors degree in business management, or equivalent business experience desirable, but not essential.

• 3 years commercial leadership experience in the seed or agricultural input sector
• Experience and knowledge of seed distribution and production
• Proven ability to develop teams and individuals
• Experience and proven ability to create strong business relationships in the seed distribution sector, and well-developed communication skills
• Experience of commercial strategy development and implementation and the ability to manage change with internal teams and customers
