GENERAL MANAGEMENT - GENERAL MANAGEMENT

Main Goal

As a General Manager, you manage the Business Supply Area of South East Asia. You also play a part in Limagrain Field Seeds Leadership Team.
Reporting to the CEO of Asia Pacific Business Unit, your direct team is made up of: Heads of Sales, Marketing & Product Development, Supply chain, and Finance.
Limagrain Field Seeds is represented by Business Supply Areas. South East Asia BSA is currently made up of Thaïland, Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia and export (140 employees in Thaïland, 5 employees in Myanmar and 5 in Cambodia).
In an exciting context of high growth and development opportunities, your main missions are:
- proposing the roadmap for South East Asia to deliver LFS Ambition 2030
- managing all activities in all the countries of the BSA: commercial operations, seed production, supply chain and administrative teams
- ensure legal responsibilities

Job description

Your role will involve these main missions:
• Strategic Leadership & Business Growth:
- Develop the strategy for sales & go-to-market, production, and supply chain to drive margin growth, increase market share and accomplish financial objectives.
- Lead market expansion efforts and identify new business opportunities, monitor market trends, and industry developments.
- Anticipate market changes in the geography and in crops, and define a long-term strategy as well as implement or review tools, such as CRM

• Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations in the SEA region, ensuring efficiency and profitability.
- Manage and optimize the supply chain, customer service, and logistics to support seamless business operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.

• Financial Oversight:
- Manage the performance and the main financial and business KPIs to contribute to the profitability of LFS.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for the BSA.

• People Management & Development: our aim being to be Great Place to Work in 2030 :
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a positive and productive work culture
- Set performance goals, conduct regular reviews and provide coaching to enhance team capability.
- Drive employee engagement and retention strategies

- Ensure a robust talent management system

• Stakeholder Management:
- Establish strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders in the SEA region
- Represent the company at events
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with the global LFS leadership team

- Ensure proper coordination between the different parts of the BSA organization

• Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure all operations comply with local and international laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Manage risks, including financial, operational, and market-related, to safeguard the business.

• Safety:

As the Safety Policy delegate for LFS SEA you are both sponsor and decision-maker: you set the goals in the matter of safety and play a major role in implementing the Safety organization and actions of its teams.

 

Skills: what we expect of you

Functional/Hard skills:

You have a proven track record in Sales & Marketing, in a context of business growth and highly competitive market.

You have managed P&L responsibilities and you have already supervised cross-functional teams: operations, sales, finance, support…

You know very well corporate governance, general management best practices and performance management principles.

You speak English fluently, speaking fluent Thaï would be also a strong asset!

 

Soft skills:

If you have an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit, excellent communication & leadership skills and the ability to influence people and get them on board, we absolutely want to hear from you!

 

Background:

You have a deep understanding of the seeds industry .

You have minimum 10+ years of experience in a senior leadership role.

You are used to working with many different cultures and are particularly familiar with Thai culture.

 

Education:

Master’s degree in Agriculture, Business Administration, Management, or related fields. Master's or MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

 

This position requires around 40% of business trips (regular trips to Thailand and occasional trips around the world).
