Main Goal

We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Research Senior Manager to join the Traits and Technologies department of Limagrain Field Seeds Research, which is devoted to the development of technologies and products to meet with global agriculture challenges. the position we are seeking to fill is that of genome Engineering Platform Manager.

As a manager of managers, you will foster collaborators personal and skills development. You have proven organization skills anddemonstrated your ability to coordinate complex activities. operational excellence is one of your core value.

As a scientific leader of the genome engineering platform, you will expand and oversee the different activities consisting of cloning, plant transformation, molecular analysis, plant production in green houseand phenotyping (controlled conditions and field evaluations) to support our projects. Each activity is managed by a team manager who is in charge of quality and execution of the associated processes.

As a Research Senior Manager, you will be accountable for the platform operations and responsible for further strengthening and developing cross-platform activities and supporting the team managers in their roles.

This position, within an interdisciplinary team, requires excellent communication skills and a strong team spirit.

What you’ll do:

 

Team Management


Provide participative leadership to a team of 6 direct managers and oversee a total of 30+ employees.

Support platform managers to ensure the highest quality and efficiency across activities,

Coordinate and prioritize resource allocation across teams and projects, ensuring alignment with overall company goals.

 

Operational excellence


Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Genome Engineering Platform, ensuring streamlined pipelines for GM/GE event production to meet project demands.

Maintain accurate records of experiments and results within the platform's LIMS system and ensure its alignment with processes and deliverables.

Guarantee compliance with company standards, including health, safety, environmental, ethical, and regulatory requirements, while maintaining the team’s high technical and scientific standards.

 

Strategic leadership


Devise and implement mid- to long-term strategic plans to develop the platform by integrating essential infrastructures, technologies, processes, and talent.

Sponsor and lead innovative projects to drive platform capabilities and ensure alignment with the company's strategic goals.

Foster strong relationships with other platforms and crop research leaders to develop synergies.

Propose budgets, oversee portfolio reporting, and contribute to IP protection and Freedom to Operate (FTO) initiatives.

Participate to the management team of the Traits & Technologies department and contributes to its strategic orientations

Skills: what we expect of you

PhD in Biology or Biotechnology with a minimum of 5 years of experience
Strong scientific background in molecular biology, cell biology, genome engineering and plant biology
A previous successful experience in GM or GE industrial research
Demonstrated leadership to coordinate or drive scientific projects
Knowledge and experience in project management
Track records of process improvement and quality management implementation
Awareness of regulatory frameworks and constraints
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
French and English fluency or commitment to learn
Highly motivated and strong team player with a great ability to adapt to a competitive and fast evolving context
Demonstrated innovative, critical thinking and problem-solving oriented mindset
Experience with management of managers
Versatility and ability to consider all dimensions related to the position including Legal, IP, finance, IT
