PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
Manage the HM.Clause global seed supply function and execute the seed production plan within the global seed supply budget for the Solanums.

POSITION DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
In alignment with HM.Clause's strategic roadmap for Supply Chain and as an integrated part our crop specific strategy, the Global Seed Supply Lead is responsible for the development and implementation of our global production and sourcing strategy and for the procurement of the seed supply required to offset the global demand plan of sales.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•As a member of the Seed Production & Seed Supply Management Team (GMT), contribute to define strategy for the department and execute actions accordingly.

•Develop and implement a Global Sourcing Strategy for the Solanums including commercial and stock seed productions, that supports HMC Strategic Road Map. Integrate/represent the Production strategy throughout the BU as well as LVS global strategic crop review.

•Establish the optimal Production Plan according to the quantity and quality requirements, cost, and deadlines established semi-annually by Release Committee. Allocate production release to specific production regions and vendors.

•Lead the Seed Supply Managers and provide the Technical Expert teams with guidance, establish/monitor objectives, and provide management oversight of day-to-day operations.

•Systematically develop and support the team through performance evaluation, training, and succession planning. Develop and implement harmonized resources (systems, processes, tools...) for the Seed Supply Managers.

•Build/update purchase budget based on global production plan and execute/monitor purchases accordingly. Establish and execute/monitor OPEX budget (travel expenses etc.)

•Spearhead vendor selection and strategic business partner relationships with third parties.

•Manage Vendor relations and monitor all levels of production to meet desired quality, cost and quantity standards. Recommend and negotiate annual contract prices with vendors/growers.

•Collaborate with Plant Breeders and Product Managers to develop the optimal supply plan and product availability timeline for new variety introductions.

•Identify and initiate production research projects with input from Seed Supply Managers/Technical Experts

•Actively Participate in LVS Solanums Crop Team, translating the strategy into actions and reporting on progress.

Ability to develop and maintain production work relationships across all levels of the organization, especially with the Supply Chain and other divisions involved in the seed production process, e.g. R&D and Marketing.
