RESEARCH & INNOVATION - TRAIT & SCIENCE SUPPORT

Main Goal

The Limagrain Field Seeds Research team is looking for a Data Analyst to strengthen its Digital Envirotyping & Phenotyping team.
Varietal improvement, based on the evaluation of varieties in field trials, is a crucial activity for Limagrain.

The aim of this position is to improve this varietal evaluation by providing breeding teams with innovative tools based on :
- in-depth analysis of a multitude of information sources (drones, satellites, weather, etc.)
- and on the adaptation of plant growth models to these information sources.

Job description

Your main tasks will be to :

- Compare, study and analyze the complementarity between the various sources of information made available. Validate their relevance, assess their accuracy...

- Evaluate and design Python algorithms for image and kinetic analysis to develop new statistical traits/.indicators in line with our research activities. By interacting with the breeding teams and drawing on the team's expertise, you will be able to target phenotypic characteristics of interest for varietal evaluation.

- Develop a new version of plant growth models incorporating the statistical indicators selected in the previous stages. For this mission, the Data Analyst will draw on in-house skills and an in-depth bibliographical study.

- Evaluate the impact of these various developments in terms of improving the accuracy of our varietal selection models.

Skills: what we expect of you

You have a 5-year degree (Master 2 or engineering school). You are a statistician, data scientist or agricultural engineer with a taste for new technologies and data processing. Your skills in agronomy, plant genetics and/or ecophysiology will be a plus, as will knowledge of GIS. You have demonstrated programming skills in Python, R and/or any other data analysis-oriented language.

Given the international working environment, you must be fluent in written and spoken scientific English. Occasional travel is to be expected. Rigorous, dynamic and serious, you have good organizational and interpersonal skills. You enjoy working as part of a team, but are also able to work independently during your assignments.

Recruitment process

Our recruitment process consists of several stages:

- the first consists of a pre-screening of applications by Jérémy, our Talent Acquisition Manager, accompanied by future manager Anne-Valérie, to establish a shortlist of candidates for audition. A telephone pre-qualification may be carried out.

- A first interview is organized with the future manager.

- A second HR interview follows shortly afterwards.

Finally, feedback is given to the candidates. Various tests may also be considered (language, personality, etc.).
