Main Goal

Job overview:

Limagrain Vegetable Seeds is looking for an innovative scientist dedicated to improving CRISPR/Cas Genome Editing technologies to join our research team “Genome Editing Development”. The successful candidate will focus on evaluating and enhancing CRISPR technology, developing new applications, and improving the precision, efficiency, and versatility of CRISPR systems. This role is essential for advancing our genetic engineering capabilities and driving forward our cutting-edge research projects and Genome Editing platforms dedicated to field and vegetable crops.

Job description

Main Responsibilities:

·       Conduct literature surveys and in-depth research to stay up-to-date with the latest advances in Genome Editing technologies.

·       Identify, evaluate, develop, and optimize CRISPR/Cas systems and tools to enhance the versatility, precision, and efficiency of genome editing in plants.

·       Design and conduct experiments to test and validate new CRISPR technologies, collaborating with other scientists.

·       Collaborate with Biotechnology teams, including sequencing, biostatistics, and bioinformatics, to analyze experimental data and interpret results for meaningful conclusions.

·       Provide tools, advice, and training to Gene Editing platforms on the latest CRISPR technologies and methodologies.

·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate improved CRISPR tools into various projects and applications.

·       Prepare detailed reports and presentations to communicate results to internal teams and end users.

·       Participate in collaborations and interact with external partners.

·       Foster a collaborative and innovative research environment.

Skills: what we expect of you

Key Success Factors:

·       Demonstrated expertise in CRISPR/Cas technology and genome editing tools.

·       Proven track record in developing and optimizing genome editing techniques.

·       Expertise in molecular biology, genetic engineering, molecular cloning, and bioinformatics analysis.

Skills:

·       Strong understanding of genome editing principles and techniques, as well as molecular biology.

·       Proficiency in bioinformatics tools and software for guide RNA design and off-target analysis.

·       Excellent problem-solving skills and data analysis abilities.

·       Understanding of regulatory constraints and practical knowledge of Quality processes.

·       Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex data clearly in English.

·       Knowledge of in vitro plant culture and genetic transformation technologies for monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous plants is a plus.

Qualifications:

PhD in molecular biology, genomics, biotechnology, or a related field with extensive experience in genome editing and CRISPR/Cas technologies.
