Within the Sales department and reporting to the Head of ASIA for Vilmorin-Mikado,you propose the strategy and manage the commercial activity of one of the 4 Sales Units of Vilmorin-Mikado. The Asia Unit covers 1 headquater located in Japan, and 2 subsidiaries located in China and Korea, together with the Export Sales based in Japan which includes India, Oceania region, and other countries in South East Asia.


You will manage the Division as a profit center, ensuring the development of turnover, market share, margins, results and customer satisfaction on the scope, as well as ensuring proper control of customer receivables, inventory in the subsidiary and control of financial indicators.

Vos Missions

Attend to AST (Asia Steering Team) meeting as representing Sales, to discuss strategy and direction of ASIA of Vilmorin-Mikado. Propose methodology in developing Asia using connection across BU, countries, and functions.


Facilitate the Unit Committee as well as decision-making on the scope, including Health/Safety actions, in close collaboration with the Human Resources Manager, the Financial Manager and the Research Operations Manager.


Ensure the definition, implementation and optimization of strategies, commercial policies and global procedures on the perimeter: prioritization, product development strategies, distribution, pricing policies, etc. in alignment with the global strategy of the Vilmorin-Mikado Business Unit


Manage the Sales and Development teams of the "Export" perimeter (meetings, field visits, customer meetings, training, validation of recommendations, definition of objectives, etc.) as well as the teams in the subsidiary with a view to continuous improvement of their performance.


Monitor market and sector developments, implement the BU's strategy, propose and control medium-term plans, forecasts and operating budgets.


Deploy the commercial excellence approach within your team through the use of forecasting tools, customer relations, account reviews, etc.


Define & Prepare OPEX budget with the Unit committee


Review & challenge the sales forecast prior to production plan validation


Establish the P&L according to BU guidelines & ensure the proper monitoring.


In addition:
• Consolidate the communication strategy, actions, events, and budgets, ensuring the transition towards greater digitalization of resources


• Facilitate the proper management of customer complaints, and corrective actions to be implemented.


• Facilitate exchanges between the attached teams and the services in strong interaction (in particular Marketing, Supply, etc.). Structure and coordinate information flows within the division.


• Ensure good relationships and exchanges with your counterparts of the sister companies, in particular regarding distribution topics.


• Ensure relations with external professional circles across the Unit

Compétences : ce que nous attendons de vous

Master in Agriculture/Agribusiness or solid experience in vegetable seed trading.


Organization and management. Leadership. Animation ability. Planning, priority management and ability to delegate.


Entrepreneurial and commercial spirit. Negotiation skills, listening skills.


Analysis and synthesis, strength of proposal, rigor and reliability,


Professional autonomy and mobility,


Proactivity. Availability/openness, positivism and relational qualities.


Mastery of IT tools (office pack, CRM, etc.)


Fluent English. Proficiency in a local language is a plus (Japanese or Chinese)


Frequent travel to be expected.


The position can be based either in Japan (Chiba City) or in China (Dalian).
