Main Goal

Reporting to the Director of the MERCAT UNIT, the Subsidiary Manager is responsible for developing sales, market share and margin of the Vilmorin-Mikado products marketed through the dealers and direct sales force.

The person in this role will work closely and in a collaborative manner with all the department leads to ensure an efficient and optimal use of resources to achieve strategic objectives for the subsidiary.

Job description


  • Follow-up market developments and trends
  • Manage launching of products added to the range with the marketing department
  • Develop turnover and market share while generating the highest margin possible and providing the best customer service possible
  • Customer prospection, building and follow-up customer loyalty, selecting distribution channels and networks, defining sales conditions and price lists
  • Manage customer credit risk, average payment terms and cash collection
  • Organization, leadership and animation of Vilmorin Mikado development & sales team, all subsidiary teams (including logistics and administrative section.) to ensure efficiency, motivation and performance.
  • Motivate, encourage and give visibility on mid long term orientation of the activities.
  • Continuous performance improvement for each of the subsidiary's activities
  • Ensure consistency of all practices within the frame of Vilmorin-Mikado & group guidelines.
  • Develop partnerships and reinforce all relations internal and external.
  •  In full collaboration with the local team:
    • Build and actualize the Business plan mid term of the Subs
    • Actualize forecast datas for production meeting (Sales & Operations Planning,« SOP»)

  • Effective communication skills are a must, conveying messages that are clear, concise and accurate.
  • Proactive approach with internal and external colleagues including other business Units within the Limagrain group (i.e., Hazera, HMC & Limagrain). Acting on possible opportunities and best practices.
  •  Broad business skills are essential as well as strong and effective communication skills, networking skills. SM should also have (or be willing to develop) a high degree of familiarity with the territories, markets, dealers and direct customer’s base.
