Management of the team and of the activity

Missions

Strategy:
- Define lab priorities in close collaboration with breeding research and direct manager, adjust resources accordingly.
- Formulate mid to long term plans to develop innovative genotyping technologies to adapt to breeding needs.
- Sponsor and drive innovative projects.
- Identify and consolidate a network of external collaborators and technology providers.
 

People:
- Provide direct leadership to the team.
- Ensure that all team members follow all the company standards (health, safety, environmental, ethical compliance, government regulations, etc). Promote innovation and maintain high technical and scientific level of your team.
- As a member of the Trait and Technology department, you are expected to develop close relationships with other teams as well as with crop research heads and key external partners in order to steer innovations.
- As a member of the Trait and Technology management your will contribute to the management of the Trait and Technology department.

Operational responsibilities:
- Manage the genotyping routine activities.
- Ensure proper organization and process management, drive performance through Quality Assurance management and continuous improvement.
- Manage the overall lab budget, establish unit costs and drive invoicing and budget allocation process.
- Coordinate and prioritize the allocation of resources between development projects.

IP & legal
- Ensure all deliverable are FTO for the breeders and strengthen IP protection.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory rules.

Profil

PhD in genetics / genomics with at least 5 years of experience in management of activity and people.
Leadership confirmed through success experience in team management and project management.
Robust experience in genotyping technologies and sequencing. Experience and or knowledge in plant or animal breeding is a plus.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to organizing and developing network.
Rigorous and methodological
Driven by innovation and Result oriented.
Fluent in French and English
