Position Description:
The Portfolio Lead Solanum is Responsible for the management and business development of the assigned product portfolio- product testing, quality specifications, determining product forms, marketing, sales forecast validation and managing safety stocks.
The Portfolio Lead Solanum manages and develops a global team of Product Managers, participates and contributes to the Regional Executive Committee as a part of the marketing management team and contributes towards the mid-term plan of the company.

Essentials duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Lead the development and the execution of the crop strategy for the Solanum portfolio
• Oversee the Product Management activities of the team including life-cycle of products
included in the assigned global product portfolio, marketing mix, product assortment, pricing, marketing plans, Intellectual Property, turnover and margin optimization
• Provide direction to research and breeding by defining product segmentation, product
characteristics and market requirements for mid and long-term goals.
• Build constructive relationships with Managers of other Divisions and participate in cross functional
projects aimed at improving the company's operational excellence
• Responsible for developing the Intellectual Property strategy for the Solanum portfolio.
• Responsible for the Commercial Product Quality Specifications for the Solanum Portfolio.
• Participate in Brand management.
• Manage, train and coach a group of Product Managers.
• Initiate and lead business development initiatives (licensing in/out, co-hybrid, partnerships).
• Participate in the AMPA Regional Executive Committee.
• Participate in the Marketing Management team: contribute to building HM.CLAUSE's Mid
Term Plan and improving Marketing processes, systems and tools

Profile

Education & work experience required:
• A Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, Agribusiness or Science, or other
related field required. A Master's degree or MBA would be advantageous.
• 5 years or more of experience in vegetable seed business, breeding, seed development, seed sales, or vegetable production.
• Languages: English Required. Spanish or French Preferred.
