Job description

The Global Resource Team, Process Improvement Managers are focused on driving sustainable continuous improvement throughout the HM. CLAUSE R&D organization with a primary focus on vegetable seed R&D activities. The improvements are driven by connecting and leveraging internal and external resources, facilitating communications, and implementing efficiencies related to R&D systems, processes, and tools used for agronomic practices across global regions and functions within R&D. Resources used include internal experts as well as external companies focused on improving agricultural practices in greenhouses and open field operations within R&D vegetable research stations.
Global Resource Team (GRT), Process Improvement Managers will focus on the development and implementation in three distinct areas: continuous improvement projects, agricultural technology introductions and training/development of key stakeholders. All projects have finite timelines and a critical measure of success will be the implementation, adaptation, and sustainability of key processes at all global stations once ownership of such improvements have been transferred to local teams.
In addition to specific projects, GRT members constantly work to facilitate broad communication and information exchange to align stakeholders around shared R&D strategic vision and initiatives. This can include training on lean methodologies and clarity on processes within R&D.
Using the principles of Lean Methodology, lead formal continuous improvement projects focused on priority initiatives tied to R&D strategies as defined by the R&D Global Resource Team Director and R&D Global Management Team.
The position will be responsible for one of three global regions, focusing in three primary areas:
Process Improvement
• Develop best practices and establish performance metrics for key operational R&D activities
• Improve operational efficiency at all AMPA stations to increase agronomic selection quality and reduce variety time to market for support and plant breeding functions within R&D
• Improve crop/trial data quality and reliability for internal R&D Operations customers
• Reduce phytosanitary and regulatory risk related to seed borne pathogens
• Provide metrics and reports related to the health of the continuous improvement program to management
• Support workplace safety and, as required, lead development and improvement of station safety protocols

Agricultural Technology Introduction
• Facilitate regional and cross regional networking groups to monitor farm technology and competitive trends in the industry, implementing best practices where appropriate
• Share information broadly through collaborative digital platforms; pilot, and if successful, implement new approaches and emerging trends globally
• Maintain a robust connection with industry organizations, technology developers and innovators worldwide
Training and Development
• Provides internal coaching,


BA/BS Operations or Business and/or equivalent 5 years of experience managing and improving processes
Technical education or experience in plant sciences or Ag engineering is highly preferred
Certifications in Project Management, Quality Management and Continuous Improvement (such as Lean and Six Sigma methodologies) are a plus
Fluent in English; Spanish or French language skills are desirable
