Finalité du poste

As a global Seed Company, Vilmorin-MKS has strong basis over the 5 continents and offers a wide and original high-quality range to all the professionals of the vegetable chain. Vilmorin-MKS is specialized in the creation, production and marketing of vegetable and tree seeds and is entirely dedicated to agricultural professionals.

As a part of the Marketing team, you will be asked to support the growth of our Carrot species by recommending and managing the  strategy and development on your perimeter.

Missions

Crop Strategy
·       To orientate our research programs on Carrot crop: to recommend the Carrot crop strategy and its execution on your perimeter (ambition and market share targets; direction for marketing, research, seed tech and development; action plans, follow-up and corrective actions).
·       To animate Development and Sales teams to deliver the plan and to support business activation.
·       To ensure the growth and the profitability of the Carrot crop through market share increase and new products launching.
·       (To lead the Mid-term plan process and targets for the Carrot crop on your perimeter.)

Market intelligence:
·       To permanently show a deep and updated knowledge of the Carrot markets on your perimeter and define the future trends and requests (agronomy, customers, consumers)
·       To animate the Development community on Market intelligence, including active benchmarking.

Lifecycle and Products’ management:
·       In collaboration with other divisions, to manage products life cycle and your products range, within the objective of turnover and margin growth, with the support of New Product flow Manager, Production, Development and Sales team.
·       To lead NPI process (New Product Introduction) and the decision-making on products’ advancement. To coordinate and animate development plans for new products with the Breeders, Development teams and Regional Crop Specialists.
·       To recommend the positioning of the varieties (targeted markets, Rock bottom price per area, Development targets in terms of countries and customers, selection of pictures…).
·       To define strategic varieties and to co-build and validate the Launching plans for the new strategic products.
·       To supervise and challenge Sales business plans and forecasts with a leadership on Sales & Operations process. To maintain proactivity on stock management.
·       To be accountable of markets’ requirements in terms of seed quality and ensure their respect through our seed Quality Chart.

Business outlooks
·       To be accountable for the overall profitability of the crop (She/he is in charge of the crop’s “bottom line”).
·       To support Sales teams with appropriate recommendation in terms of Go-to-market approaches, added-value pricing approaches, new concepts, commercial and technical information.
·       To ensure and bring inputs for the activation of the 4 Ps (Product, Price, Promotion, Place) on the crop.
·       To provide new business opportunities with a customer-orientation and anticipate risks with corrective actions.

Innovation:
·       To ensure growth with innovation, by developing new concepts and new products in collaboration with Breeders, local Development & Sales teams.

Products’ Communication:
·       To define, plan and control the implementation of the products’ promotional strategy in his/her crop, in consistency with the overall crop’s strategic plan
·       To take accountability

Profil

The candidate must have a University degree in Agronomy or Agriculture, with a strategic vision. A Master would be preferred. Acting frequently as a project leader, this person should have a strong cross functional leadership, being inspiring and a change agent.

He/she should know how to motivate a team, be business oriented, solution oriented, with good negotiating skills and ready to travel regularly.

A good knowledge of Carrot seed business or an experience in product management in seeds sector or other agricultural product would be a significant plus.

 

·       Languages: Fluent English is mandatory, Spanish or a second language would be a plus.
