The primary responsibility for this role is to manage the HM.CLAUSE Research and Development portfolio globally across all cross crops and R&D sub-functions.
In addition, this role will coordinate the R&D department's annual budget planning processes, monitoring, analysis, and reporting in support of decision making, compliance, and alignment with BU and divisional guidelines. You will also develop and monitor R&D KPI/Metrics to ensure effective utilization of R&D resources and alignment with business ambitions.
Your specific responsibilities will be:
- Manage the HM.CLAUSE R&D portfolio in close coordination with the Global VP of R&D:
- Organize R&D portfolio reviews with associated stage progressions and resource allocation decisions for all portfolios, LVS & external collaborations
- Coordinate alignment of R&D portfolios with business priorities
- Lead project ideation, selection, and progression reviews
- Engage directly with HM.CLAUSE R&D governance bodies and HM.CLAUSE Crop Committees to foster communication between functions and to ensure critical issues are monitored, managed and completed
- Coordinate interactions with the LVS Research Committee and LVS R&D portfolio
- Coordinate R&D budget preparation in alignment with business objectives. Monitor and steer budget spending related to project goals and coordinate budget adaptations as they relate to the portfolio in collaboration with the global R&D management Team.
- Coordination of resource components of all R&D collaborations including but not limited to research programs and R&D tax credits.
- Act as the representative for HM.CLAUSE R&D to the Limagrain Vegetable Seeds business line and to Groupe Limagrain on resource and portfolio processes and practices.
We are looking for a profile with:
- Master level or higher degree in intellectual property, business; financial experience is an asset
- 5+ years senior Research and Development management experience including portfolio management experience, demonstrated understanding of the strategic planning process
- Multicultural and international experience; Good working knowledge of the vegetable seed industry; Excellent written and verbal communications skills; Able to work effectively in a global environment;
- Fluent English mandatory
Travel Requirements: 15-20% mostly international
