Main Goal

For Limagrain Europe (LE) Business Unit, the Production Manager will lead the seed production activities in Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, Serbia and Croatia, according to the European Production Strategy. He/She will organize the partners network to achieve the plan in term of quantity, quality, planning and pricing, according to the European plan and the Rules & Regulation in Central Europe. He/She manages a production team and will foster an operational culture founded on safety, results orientation and continuous improvement.

Job description

Lead seed production activities to attain goals plan in terms of volume, quality, planning and cost
• Understand short and mid-term area goals in term of volume, quality, planning and cost.
• Build/update area road map and define strategy to meet overall goals.
• Manage the partners production network with a technical development approach.
• Negotiate production's contracts (including industrial services) and ensure proper enforcement of contract terms.
• Implement the production plan and follow-up the crop throughout the year.
• Provide regular reporting to LE such as accurate production updates, crop evaluations, budget forecast…
• Plan and check the harvest, in conjunction with the supply team and receiving plants.
• Purchase seeds and services
• Ensure all activities are compliant with local regulatory rules and conducted following the company Safety Rules and Code of Conduct.
• Follow the activities of competitors to benchmark evolution in volume, best practices and identify opportunities for improvement
• Work with the management to develop annual budget, determine the resources and workforce needs.

Drive area continuous improvement
• Drive partners performance (yield, seeds quality) continuous improvement by implementing best practices and innovations as well as by managing partners performance & selection:
o Monitor partners performance, develop data collection & analysis, arrange end of season reviews to identify improvement opportunities,
o Remain up to date with latest production technologies and drive innovation to support partners performance.
• Supervise local Production Research activities:
Implement trials, new technologies/practices trials… to deliver solution to increase the productivity

Manage the local production team
• Manage and support the local production team( 5 people), in charge of technical advices to the partners
• Build development plan and implement training programs according to their needs, to insure their personal growth
• Develop the team spirit and establish good connection between local and European teams
• Support the organization evolution and the recruitment of new team members

• Master degree in Agronomy or related field.
• 10+ years background in similar activities and role
• Deep Agronomic knowledge.
