Algorithms, machine learning and deep learning have become essential tools for collecting and processing data, especially from pictures or movies. In the context of varietal improvement, these technologies provide access to quantitative and objective data on the varieties evaluated during the breeding process: agronomic, phenological, yield-related traits or traits related to biotic or abiotic stresses.

The position of Team lead digital phenotypage is attached to the ‘Breeding Technologies’ area of the LVS organization.

Your main mission will be to manage a team of experts in these fields. Also, you will be responsible for various projects enabling the deployment of digital phenotyping in the breeding programs of Limagrain's vegetable branch. Your team will implement innovative image and video analysis methodologies and tools, deploy these tools with the breeding teams of Groupe Limagrain's Business Units. Also, training Limagrain users and support these tools over time, to support the competitiveness of R&D products for the three LVS Business Units worldwide.

• Lead and manage a team of scientists in the domain of digital phenotyping discovery, ensuring people and team development while maximizing collaboration, productivity, efficiency and adhesion to the new T&T (Trait & Technology) identity.
• Foster team spirit to develop a collaborative and innovative work environment within team and promote the adhesion to the new T&T identity
• Accountable for efficiently translating the digital phenotyping components of the LVS R&D strategic roadmap into concrete objectives and plans for experts of the domain
• Collaborate closely with plant breeders to understand breeding goals and challenges, tailoring digital phenotyping strategies to address specific crop improvement objectives and to assist in integrating digital phenotyping into the crop breeding pipeline.
• Develop and implement guidelines, processes and KPIs in the domain of digital phenotyping to efficiently measure progress in the domain, efficiently report to the global lead and provide transparency to the overall T&T Discovery management
• Collaborate with strategic public and private partners
• Manage the budget of the domain and tasks allocations, in accordance with the Breeding Technology Discovery global lead guidance

You have good synthesis skills. You can make decisions while ensuring that decisions are implemented in a complex and fast-moving environment.

Knowledge of analysis methodologies and artificial intelligence technologies are a plus.
