Function

SUPPORT FUNCTIONS - FINANCE

Main Goal

The Global Accounting and Compliance Lead will be responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of the whole Business Unit for corporate headquarters as well as for local and statutory purposes; on top the individual will be in charge of the accounting compliance across the BU .
This includes keeping up with the constant evolution of the regulatory and normative framework , participating in digital transition projects in order to optimize current accounting procedures & tools, Supporting the local finance teams in their development and change, ensuring they stay privileged interlocutors locally while communicating about the respect of the budget decisions and the risk of non compliance.

Job description

Your main tasks will involve :

A) Organization of accounting activity and team management

• Determine and implement the structure of the accounting activity (by Region/ entity)
• Lead and support your team towards performance, functionally lead the finance or accounting managers of the entities, as a technical referent.
• Define the calendar of the various deadlines of the accounting cycle (annual and specific accounting processes and closures for the entities' activities).
• Monitor accounting, financial, legal and tax news.
• To develop the accounting process, procedures and tools in accordance with internal directives, regulatory and normative developments.

B) Management of the presentation of financial statements 

• Manage the closing of the legal entities' corporate accounts, the collection of data
• Monitor regulatory and normative compliance
• Control the regulatory and normative compliance of accounting reports, tax returns, consolidation returns.
• Verify the consistency of the results of the parent company and consolidated financial statements.
• Oversee the consolidated reporting of income statements.

C) Management of cash management and banking relationships 

• Participate in the definition of operating budgets (by legal or commercial entity, business unit).
• Manage the monitoring of cash budgets and financing plans.
• Control the security and management of financial flows.

D) Follow-up of relations with internal-external partners

• Manage relations with LG Corporate Finance Specialist: Group Accounting, Tax, Internal Auditors
• Manage relations with internal decision-makers: general management, administrative and/or financial management, IT systems department, communication, management control, internal control.
• Coordinate the interface with external stakeholders: chartered accountants, auditors, tax auditors, bankers, service providers.
• Coordinate their accounting and financial audit schedules.

E) Other Potential activities

• Manage cross-functional projects (transformation, growth, merger, recapitalization, dividend distribution) in interaction with other departments.

Skills: what we expect of you

To carry out these tasks successfully, we are looking for

  • Bachelor in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or Engineering, with 10 - 15 years of prior experience in Finance
  • Demonstrated expertise in people management and experience in multi-country international environments are essential.
  • You should have strong skills in team management and development within an international context.
  • Excellent computer, communications, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of IFRS
  • English proficiency and bilingual in French or Spanish language a plus.
  • External-audit experience is a plus.
