SUPPORT FUNCTIONS - FINANCE

Main Goal

Head of FP&A for Africa and Asia Pacific is responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis function across these regions. This role involves overseeing financial analysis, strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and providing financial insights to support business decision-making. The position requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with LFS Africa, Asia-Pacific and Limagrain Group FP&A teams.

Job description

a) Strategic Financial Planning
• Develop and track a rolling multi-year financial plan (i.e. MTP/LTP or equivalent).
• Align the financial plan with strategic business objectives.
• Use scenario planning/sensitivity analysis to assess/project future financial performance.
• Regularly update financial plans based on actual performance.
• Regularly review the financial plan with key stakeholders.
• Conduct periodic reviews and update plan assumptions.
b) Investment/Project Evaluation
• Apply a rigorous capital budgeting process for major investments/projects (CAPEX).
• Use techniques like NPV, IRR, and payback period analysis where applicable.
• Prioritize projects that maximize ROI and long-term value.
• Implement a post-investment audit process.
• Regularly monitor and report on investment performance.
c) Financial/Performance Analysis
• Calculate, forecast, analyse and monitor key ratios and financial metrics.
• Use vertical, horizontal and benchmark financial statement analysis to identify performance trends.
• Define custom KPIs, align with business strategy and monitor via a customized dashboard.
• Review monthly financial performance results discussing with key stakeholders KPIs, ratios and variance analysis findings.
• Provide actionable recommendations to ensure financial reports support strategic business decisions.
d) Budgeting
• Oversee annual budget preparation process.
• Regularly compare actuals against budget and analyse variances.
• Build strategic business goals into budget KPIs.

e) Forecasting
• Establish a rolling forecast to enable continuous/flexible adaptation of financial action plan to business realities.
• Regularly update forecasts and compare with actual results.
• Monitor business and environmental trends on a risk and opportunity basis to adjust budget forecasts.
f) Business Partnering
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.

g) Strategic Agenda Reporting
• Work closely with other departments to set up matrices and KPIs to monitor the progress of priorities, ensuring that they stay on track and deliver the expected results.
h) Team Leadership
• Manage and develop a high-performing FP&A team across the Territory.
• Stimulate best practice sharing and benchmarking between the local FP&A teams within the Territory.
