The Marketing Communication Manager works under the strategic direction of the Global Customer Excellence Director and is responsible for the planning and execution of Marketing Communications activities within the assigned region in close collaboration and coordination with the business,
Job description
The primary responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
• He/She is a key partner that ensures the Marketing Communication approach, starting from the strategy to implementation in line with key business needs & drivers
• He/She manages the local Marketing Communications teams in the assigned region and is responsible for developing operational Marketing Communication plans with clear goals, actions and results in close collaboration/coordination with the local business management teams
• As Project Leader for the Marketing Communications Committee, he/she defines with Marketing and Sales counterparts (GMs, VP Sales or Area Sales Managers, depending on the local organizations), the strategy to introduce and/or promote our products and brands:
• Defines strategies to promote our products and commercial brands with the goal to support the Sales Target and strategic business growth
• Defines the Marketing Communication approach – online & offline - based on segmented customers & customer personas
• Defines & prioritizes appropriate Marketing Communication channels (online & offline) in line with the business strategy
• Prioritizes Marketing Communications projects in coordination with the business and is accountable for the respective deliverables & results
• Defines the Marketing Communications budget in alignment with the business (strategy) and is accountable for budget follow-up & execution in line with global guidelines
• Accordingly, he/she validates and controls the implementation of the local Marketing Communications action plans, while assuring integration of corporate Marketing Communications actions decided at the BU Level.
• As a member of the Communications GMT (Global Management Team) he/she participates actively in global projects (e.g., Branding strategy, Customer segmentation, Personas study, Customer insights mapping, creation of added value communications concepts, …)
• He/She is a business communications expert (media relations, events…) and manages 3rd parties vendors (Event planners, Agencies, Consultants)He/she manages and inspires a team composed of local Marketing Communication Leads/coordinator. He/sheis responsible for their professional development and talent management
• Manages external parties, e.g., vendors, event planners, agencies, etc.Inspires a solid “customer service” mindset (regarding internal or external clients)
• Develops with the team and the business a clear annual roadmap and operational Marketing Communication plan and budget in alignment with the respective Sales Target, and monitors the implementation at regional and local level.
Profile
• Provides guidance and advice to the team as needed in order to improve their efficiency and develops the skill level of the local Marketing Communications teams through tools, methodologies and trainings
• Fosters best practice and knowledge sharing across Sales Areas/Regions.
• In subsidiaries, the local Marketing Communications team may be involved in select/targeted Internal Communications activities, supported by - and under the guidance of the Internal Communications team, Human Resources and General Manager
• Establishes and monitors KPIs to measure the financial impact of Marketing Communication efforts (ROI)
• Promotes a Mid-Term-Plan (3 years) for Marketing Communications initiatives.
Produces/provides content to support local coordinators with local media
Education & work experience required:
• EDUCATION: Master's degree in marketing, Journalism, or Communications. MBA is a plus
• EXPERIENCE: 10 years of experience in the Communications/Marketing field with demonstrated abilities to manage both offline and online communication strategies; demonstrated experience in digital marketing and social media strategy in a Business-to-Business environment.
• Excellent research and proofreading skills to ensure all materials are high quality and accurate
• Proficient in MS Office, familiarity with design software (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign..) and content management systems (PIM, DAM, CRMs – e.g., Microsoft Dynamics)
