Main Goal

1.       SALES ROLE WITHIN THE SUBSIDIARY

This position of Sales Representative is within the framework of the company’s development strategy defined by the Sales Department, in accordance with the general policy of the company.

 

2.       PURPOSE

For the scope of influence and responsibility, the job involves:

•       Developing sales actions to achieve results

•       Promoting seed varieties with final customers

•       Securing accounts and following thru the receivables stage

•       Developing forecasts according to season and demands

•       Working toward goal of securing customer preference to the brand

 

3.       LOCATION: The area of influence and responsibility is SURESTE and includes the states of Puebla, Hidalgo, Morelos, Estado de Mexico, Tlaxcala, Oaxaca Veracruz and peninsula. The person selected should be located on Puebla, Puebla.

Job description

1.       GENERAL MISSION
Ideal candidate will have knowledge of the region and will develop and implement strategies to secure the sustainable growth in sales of the designated area.

2.       SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES
v  GENERAL ACTIVITIES

•       To develop and implement strategies to increase market participation in the area and generate business growth proposals.
•       To negotiate commercial agreements with customers and follow up the achievement by securing the delivery of the seeds.
•       To do the continuous follow up with direct and indirect customers, understanding their needs and securing the customer satisfaction
•       To stablish demonstrative field plots and to organize promotional events developed and conducted for the benefit of both direct and indirect customers. To organize market visits for customers.
•       To participate in expos and demonstrative events to promote products and generate brand awareness.
•       To do sales forecast in a monthly basis to secure the availability of seeds to customers.
•       To review continuously inventories to secure deliveries to customer and rotation of the products.
•       To be accountable of the account & receivables of customers and avoid overdue payments.
•       To support the marketing team and update market research studies achieving continuous improvement and knowledge of the market by type of client. Having the ultimate objective of contributing to the development of business plans and strategic plans
•       To continuously update the CRM data base and deliver activity reports to inform market situation in the area

v  CONTRIBUTORY ACTIVITIES
•       To contribute to the decisions of advancing products to the next stages
•       To contribute in the construction of launching plans

3.       MANAGERIAL HIERARCHY AND COLLABORATIVE RELATIONS
v  DIRECT REPORT TO SUBSIDIARY MANAGER
This position will report to the Subsidiary Manager of the Subsidiary, who will provide support in the event of difficulties and during special events. The Subsidiary Manager will also provide assistance in making decisions.  Ideal candidate will have autonomy to perform specific duties with flexibility, as delegated by management.

v  INTERFACE / OPERATIONAL CONTACTS
This position works in close collaboration with:
•       Local Product Promotors (Development) to follow up new developments
•       Product Managers to contribute in successful product launches
•       Peer Sales Representatives to organize and align forecast and negotiations of common customers
•       Supply Chain to build monthly rolling forecast
•       Customer Service to follow up with orders and deliveries
•       Finance to follow up account and receivables
In addition, there are several external interactions which include customers, management outside of the subsidiary, official and technical bodies, as well as service providers that may be required.

Quantitative objectives are set during the annual interview in line with the Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) used by the sales management regarding growth.

 

v  QUALITATIVE

Qualitative objectives are set during the annual interview in line with the KPIs used by the sales management regarding growth.

 

v  CONTROL FREQUENCY AND RESOURCES

At least once a year, during the annual interview, and periodically according to the reporting cycle there is a monitoring of the dashboard used by the sales department.

•       Negotiation skills

•       Excellent listening ability specially to needs of the customers,

•       Technical knowledge of the field and the vegetable seed business with seniority in Tomato, Pepper, Rootstocks (Protected crops),

•       Knowledge of the current market and knowledge of the customers,

•       Knowledge of the IT tools such as Microsoft office and applications used in the business,

•       Languages: Spanish Native, English is desirable.
