Propósito de la posición
He/She will be lead agronomic management/activities in our site in Chile; Peru and Mexico. His base will be Piura - Peru.
He/She must review and suggest new practices related to: Soil preparation, irrigation, fertilization/ferti-irrigation; pest control etc., including agricultural machinery/products related to these activities. Lead the implementation of new technologies in WG sites: example: RTK, GPS implementation, use of drones, new equipment for agronomic activities Lead the implementation/execution of other technologies related to seed processing (Ole machine, threshers/shellers, greenhouses, etc.), sampling, etc. at WG sites Actively participate in new projects related to general activities, such as new facilities/techniques, experimental trials, etc. Search for new technologies in the agricultural business that can be implemented at WG sites, both within Limagrain group at international level, and outside the company. Comply with the safety, ethical and standards objectives established by the company and the LG group. On demand, visit external providers in other countries to assess their agronomic level, and provide technical support

ROUTINE TASKS FOR THE POSITION
Analyze current agronomic processes carried out in the counter-season sites, suggest changes based on scientific documentation, LG experience in other locations, local analysis, etc. Accompany local teams in the change, implementation and monitoring and report results. Always accompanied by economic evaluation. Analyze current processes of operational activities (i.e seed processing, sampling, etc.) carried out in counter-season sites, suggest changes based on technologies used in other locations of LG, seed industry, agricultural industries, etc. Accompany local teams in the change, implementation and monitoring and report results. Always accompanied by economic evaluation. Constantly explore available technologies to improve efficiency, reduce costs of counter-season processes. Make connections with people, groups, counter-season sites, or other service providers and companies in the market. Always accompanied by economic evaluation. Design local experiments, to answer specific questions that may suggest some modification in a process. This includes protocol development, meetings with executing teams, training, coordination of data collection, statistical analysis, reporting and interpretation of results. Suggest the need to acquire equipment or machinery for Capex and/or Opex requests that allow continuous and efficient operation, adjusted to available resources. Ensure that agricultural operations related to production are carried out in a timely manner in order to meet the objectives of quantity, quality, time and traceability of the entrusted seed production, some examples include, but are not limited to: land preparation, irrigation schemes, fertilization, pest control, weeds and diseases, precision planting, crop cycles, etc. Ensure that any suggestion of change, purchase or implementation of machinery / technology, complies with LG standards in terms of ethics, finances and safety. Constantly seek to create or maintain KPIs of key processes that allow measuring efficiency aimed to a constant continuous improvement
Perfil
Agronomist or similar with 7 or more years of experience.
Master degree or PhD with 5 or more years of experience.
Profesional experience in agronomy and/or agronomic technologies in the business area (preferably in research, production or IPM, plant health/nutrition). Agronomic knowledge (soils, irrigation, fertilization, plant pathology)
Availability to travel abroad between our sites Chile, Peru, Mexico, etc.
Spanish, English advanced level (C1-C2)
MS Office proficiency, advanced level of Excel, driver's license, handling of research trials and statistical analysis.
Management of statistical software is desirable
Spotfire or Power-Bi proficiency desirable
Other languages proficiency is a plus
