Main Goal

Expanding the pet food segment, focus on the Southern European area

Job description

  • You maintain in close contact with existing petfood customers and try to generate more sales.
  • You actively acquire and develop new customers in the petfood industry.
  • Build tight relations with (key)accounts and from the start you are involved in their new product developments.
  • By using your product knowledge and creativity, you translate the customer's needs into concrete tailor-made solutions, and you give solid advice.
  • In case of product innovations, you play a coordinating role between Sales, Marketing, R&D and the customer.
  • You create account plans and develop your own strategies to consolidate and expand brand position.
  • You follow the international food trends and developments in the pet food market, actively respond to this and know how to translate them to your product portfolio.
  • You attend industry events (e.g., seminars, relevant national and international fairs).
  • You work together with other colleagues in an international matrix organization.
  • You report to the Horses, Young Animals and Pet Food (HYP) pôle manager, based in Germany


Experienced and motivated B2B salesperson with knowledge of the Pet Food market


  • Bachelor or master’s degree, preferably Commercial, Agricultural or Food Sciences.
  • 5-10 years commercial experience within the B2B (pet)food/feed ingredients.
  • Familiar with consultative selling.
  • You are a dynamic, driven person with passion and eager to score.
  • The willingness to travel (inter)nationally (e.g. to France, Spain, Italy)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English are required. Knowledge of Dutch is a prerequisite. 
  •  Preferable living in Belgium (Wallonia). Possibly living in South Netherlands or North France.
